Improving results by connecting with those we heal.
The Lund ZenShuk Approach
The Lund ZenShuk Approach emphasizes the importance of connecting with patients on a deeper level and acting with compassion to obtain efficient and effective evaluation and treatment outcomes.
The Lund ZenShuk Approach is a way of being balanced from within, allowing optimal listening, observing, and reaction skills to be applied to patient interactions and life events.
The Lund ZenShuk Approach helps guide others on their path toward healing.
Connection: A cohesive relationship is vital to patients’ compliance with a therapeutic plan of care and referring others for care. A cohesive relationship results from the therapist implementing intuition, creativity, and compassion into patient care derived from their own practice of self-development, self-awareness, and self-care.
Intuition: Execute superior listening and observation skills to evaluate and treat a patient as a whole person, not just a body part.
Creativity: Designing a creative therapeutic plan of care based on the individual patient’s needs and goals.
Compassion: Relating to your patient by seeing reality through their eyes helps you understand their condition better and guides in your rehabilitation approach.
Self-development: Improving patients’ therapeutic outcomes by focusing on being the best therapist you can be.
Self-awareness: Awareness of your emotional state and nonverbal language during interpersonal interactions is necessary in creating an open successful therapeutic relationship.
Self-care: You need to take care of yourself, in order to empower others to take care of themselves.
The Benefits
Increasing productivity, by decreasing cancel/no show rates and increasing patient referrals, is dependent on the therapist and patient connection. With the goal of achieving optimal rehabilitation outcomes, a productive relationship is created by the therapist using their intuition, creativity, and compassion to efficiently listen to and observe each patient’s condition. Intuition, creativity, and compassion are effectively implemented by a therapist that values and participates in self-development, self-awareness, and self-care activities.
The Key Principles
The Lund ZenShuk Approach, developed by Jillene Lund, is based on seven-key principles: Compassion, Connection, Intuition, Creativity, Self-care, Self-development, and Self-awareness.
Evidence Based Approach
The Lund ZenShuk Approach applies research evidence from the sciences of quantum physics, epigenetics, neuroscience, cardioneurology, psychoneuroimmunology, integrative medicine, and health psychology to an evidence-based practice of physical therapy.
The Lund ZenShuk Approach integrates complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) techniques into its coursework. Our course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and massage therapists. We believe our holistic approach improves patient care.
